About The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was established in 1949 as the Institute of Mechanics and in 1956, together with the Institute of Forestry, they formed the Polytechnic Institute of Brașov. In 2003, as a result of the newly introduced specialisms, the faculty changed its name to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

 

Along with the development of other faculties of the institute, other specialisms were introduced in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, in response to the requirements of development and modernization of industry. Thus, students can nowadays take courses in the following undergraduate programmes: Automotive Engineering (in Romanian and English), Traffic and Transport Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering (in Romanian and English), all lasting four years.
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering maintains numerous collaborative relationships with similar institutions in the country, but also with many European countries, such as Germany, France, England, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Great Britain, Hungary, Moldova, countries where students can benefit from scholarships for training and specialization.
